Food Sources

Hemo (absorbs 10% to 15%)- animal products such as liver, beef, egg yolks

Non-hemo (absorbs 3% to 5%)- plant products such as broccoli, beans, peanuts

Foods that are rich sources of vitamin C aid Iron absorption.

Caffeine prevents absorption of Iron

Dairy products do not contain Iron
